Rathbun is a leading converter and supplier of standard and customized vibration damping, acoustic damping, isolation damping, and thermal management solutions. We serve clients in the San Francisco Bay area, Silicon Valley, Northern California, across the country, and around the world.
 
We are a 3M Preferred Converter and one of the largest converters and distributors of 3M thermal management materials. We also provide a wide range of solutions utilizing E-A-R specialty composite materials.
 

Our History: 1967 to Today

Rathbun was founded in 1967 by Gail B. Rathbun, a mechanical engineer with an extensive background. Originally known as the Gail B. Rathbun Company, we started out as a distribution and sales representative specializing in mechanical and motion engineered solutions. Our initial customer list was short, but was made up of then-fledgling companies like IBM, Hewlett-Packard, Varian, Kaiser Electronics, and Fairchild Semiconductor.
 
Today, we are a family-owned and operated business, bringing dependability and consistency to customers in electronics, semiconductor, biotech, med-tech, and other demanding industries. We work diligently to ensure quality, value, and availability of the latest and most advanced products on the market.
 
Over the years, Rathbun has grown and evolved alongside its Silicon Valley neighbors (many of whom are also clients). However, 50 years on and counting, we remain true to our roots. We are committed to offering the highest quality service and providing innovative solutions for your challenging applications.
